Bio

Kurtinecz is an American multidisciplinary artist and Creative Director based in Tokyo, Japan.

With an early body of work focusing on large-scale figurative oil painting and video art, their work has since shifted into the digital realm; due in part to the move to Tokyo in 2019 and the outbreak of the Coronovirus. This lead to deep-diving into NFTs, XR, 3D and animation. A couple noted-exhibitions include: NFT NYC 2022 -2023 on Times Square, NeoShibuyaTV Tokyo, SXSW 2022 and a multi-disciplinary performance collaboration for ARS Electronica 2023-2024.

Their drive to meet and connect artists from across the globe brought to life art-curation projects since 2021. Hosted within the metaverse to-date, these exhibitions have been a way to bring artists and non-artists together internationally to experience the work in a unique, open and inclusive way. Kurtinecz represented Tokyo in partnership with Extended Reality Ensemble (XRE) for ARS Electronica 2021, the catalyst for these virtual happenings. Co-Curating with another Pennsylvania Born artist, Molly Goehring-Burke, Japansylvania! was born; an annual exhibition that was established in 2022 and has been escalating in scale since.

Kurtinecz graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Fine Art Degree, concentrating in Painting and Time-Based Experimental Media, from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, USA.
